Determine Your Motherboard
Version and Limitations
PS2
Serial Number on rear of machine begins with:
version 1 = serial number starts with "U1" and has 10 case screws.
version 2 = serial number starts with "U0" and has 10 case screws.
version 3 = serial number starts with "U2" and has 10 case screws.
version 4 = serial number starts with 'U3' 'U4' 'U5' or a 'U6' and has a total of 8 case screws.
version 5/6 = model number contains the letter 'R' at the end (example SCPH-30001 R-
This could also be a version 4 with an R at the end).
version 7/8 = Model # SCPH-39001
version 9 = Model # SCPH-50001 (packed in Styrofoam when new in box) Date code
3C
version 10 = Model #SCPH-50001 (packed in card board when new in box) Date code
version 12= model #SCPH- first slim unit PSTWO

*Mild-Means that it works on some units and not others, it also means
that usually media will load only after repeated attempts, This is due to the
weak lasers in the unit versions and has absolutely nothing to do with the
performance of the mod!
